Restoring Honokōwai Beach and preventing further erosion of the backshore will have a positive net beneficial impact on the environment, including preserving the beach and improving water quality. It is also anticipated that beach restoration would help to preserve and enhance the fundamental character of Honokōwai Beach by maintaining shoreline access and supporting existing uses along the shoreline, including recreational and cultural uses.
